SANTO DOMINGO.- El presidente de la Unión Demócrata Cristiana (UDC) Luis Acosta Moreta, pidió a los legisladores que emitan una resolución condenando a las Naciones Unidas por el atropello cometido al acusar al país de proveer de armas a las pandillas haitianas

Dijo que los senadores y diputados no pueden quedar callados ante esta calumnia contra la República Dominicana y deben hablar con claridad y condenar a la ONU por su atropello.

«La ONU dice que su acusación fue el resultado de la investigación de una comisión de expertos que viajó a Haití para determinar de dónde provienen las armas que usan los pandilleros y de forma graciosa se acusó a la República Dominicana de ser el vendedor», indicó.

Recordó estas manifestaciones fueron rechazadas por el presidente Luis Abinader que las consideró una acusación que no se corresponde con la verdad.

La pasada semana, la UDC realizó un piquete frente a las oficinas de la ONU en República Dominicana, donde se le entregó una carta para su secretario general, Antonio Guterres, protestando por estas acusaciones calumniosas. Posteriormente visitamos el Congreso y entregamos copia de la carta

«Toca ahora a los diputados y senadores de la República dar un paso al frente y demostrar su gran patriotismo, aprobando un proyecto de resolución mediante el cual se condene a la ONU y se rechace este documento lleno de calumnias», dijo Acosta Moreta.

Destacó que desde hace años la ONU está tratando de empujar  a la República Dominicana de que sea un eje central en buscar soluciones a la crisis permanente que tienen los haitianos. «Esa no es una responsabilidad de los dominicanos».
