Santo Domingo, R.D. Noviembre 1ro, 2022.- El partido Fuerza del Pueblo se pone a la disposición para acompañar al gobierno en la búsqueda de soluciones a la ola de violencia y criminalidad que se ha desatado en las últimas semanas en República Dominicana, según expresó su presidente, Leonel Fernández.
"Ponemos al servicio del Gobierno toda la experiencia que tienen compañeras y compañeros dentro de la Fuerza del Pueblo que han ocupado mandos, han ocupado posiciones de mando durante las pasadas gestiones del Gobierno. Conocen el tema de la criminalidad y pueden aportar en la solución de este problema que hoy está generando inquietud e incertidumbre en el pueblo dominicano", explicó el también expresidente de la República Dominicana.
Fernández, quien en un discurso en el polideportivo de Monte Plata había lanzado duras críticas a las promesas incumplidas de las autoridades actuales, se mostró altamente preocupado por la situación de violencia que se le está saliendo de las manos al gobierno. "Lo que ha pasado esta semana en la República Dominicana conlleva una profunda reflexión de hacia dónde vamos como país", manifestó.
Explicó que la pasada semana en el país, "hubo asaltos, hubo asesinatos en la capital, en el Ensanche La Fe, lo hubo en La Vega, lo hubo en Moca, lo hubo en varias localidades del país. Ahora una nueva modalidad de criminalidad que está ocurriendo, que no conocíamos en la República Dominicana, que son los desaparecidos, gente que desaparece y que la policía no da con ellos, el número de desaparecidos va incrementando", detalló Fernández.
Hizo un llamado a que el gobierno "le preste atención a eso que está ocurriendo en la República Dominicana. Ya no solamente son robos, ya no solamente son asaltos, que están ocurriendo a la luz del día, se aparecen bandas criminales, asaltan bancos, asaltan estaciones de gasolina, y no hay manera de que la policía de al traste con ellos", precisó.
El presidente de la FP manifestó además que, "La República Dominicana no está en condiciones de recibir una situación de violencia como la que está ocurriendo". En ese sentido, fue el anuncio de ofrecer colaboración al gobierno dominicano, para que los hombres y mujeres de experiencia que forman parte de las filas de la Fuerza del Pueblo, puedan contribuir a frenar la escalada de crímenes que se ha desatado en el país.

Desde la fundación del partido Fuerza del Pueblo cientos de generales retirados de diferentes instituciones se han integrado a la vida civil, participando activamente como militantes y dirigentes de la organización política.
Ex ministros de Interior y Policía, ex ministros de las Fuerzas Armadas, ex jefes del Estado Mayor de la Armada, del Ejército y de la Fuerza Aérea, de la Dirección Nacional de Control de Drogas, así como varios ex directores (Antiguos Jefes) de la Policía Nacional, entre ellos Guillermo Guzmán Fermín, Pedro de Jesús Candelier, José Polanco Gómez, Bernardo Santana Páez; entre otros más, forman parte de las filas del principal partido opositor, liderado por Leonel Fernández.
