Santiago, República Dominicana. – Con el eslogan “Empadrónate por la Patria que Llevas Dentro”, la Junta Central Electoral (JCE) lanzó oficialmente la campaña de empadronamiento en el exterior, para que los dominicanos y dominicanas que residen fuera de República Dominicana puedan ejercer el sufragio en el proceso electoral de 2024. La campaña fue inaugurada este lunes en las instalaciones del Aeropuerto Internacional del Cibao (AIC) y contó con la presencia del presidente de la JCE, Román Andrés Jáquez Liranzo, los miembros titulares Rafael Armando Vallejo, Dolores Fernández, Patricia Lorenzo Paniagua y Samir Chami Isa; Teófilo Gómez, administrador general del AIC, así como funcionarios y colaboradores de ambas entidades.
Jáquez Liranzo, al dirigir las palabras centrales en el acto, señaló que la conquista del voto será fortalecida más que nunca en la historia, al destacar que el Pleno se ha propuesto como meta duplicar la cifra del padrón del exterior de 2020, que contempló la cantidad de 595 mil 879 electores, y llevarlo a 1 millón 191 mil 758 personas empadronadas para el 2024.
“Hemos dividido este trabajo en 5 períodos de 4 trimestres y un cuatrimestre: el primer período, inicia precisamente este 1ro. de octubre hasta diciembre de este año; el segundo, de enero a marzo 2023; el tercero, de abril a junio; el cuarto, de junio a septiembre; y el quinto, de octubre a enero de 2024. En cada período la meta a lograr es de 99,794 personas”, resaltó.
Se realizarán 98 operativos móviles de empadronamiento a nivel mundial
El presidente de la JCE destacó que la institución cuenta con 23 oficinas de servicios con sus respectivas OCLEE que equivalen a las Juntas Electorales en el exterior y aprovechó la ocasión para puntualizar que en cada una se priorizará el empadronamiento de los dominicanos y dominicanas, teniendo un día en la semana de horario extendido para que los que trabajan puedan asistir.
“Adicional a esto, viernes, sábado y domingo, en este trimestre tendremos 98 operativos móviles de empadronamiento a nivel mundial y tendremos 14 puntos fijos a nivel mundial y a nivel local cuatro lugares estratégicos que son los tres aeropuertos y la Dirección de Pasaportes”, manifestó.
El funcionario agregó que, para lograr el objetivo de la JCE, es necesario el involucramiento activo, democrático y justo de los partidos políticos acreditados en cada oficina u OCLEE en el exterior, como también de cada dominicano y dominicana residente en el exterior, de las entidades y organizaciones de la dominicanidad por todo el mundo: “Es necesario el empuje de la Junta, el empuje de todos y de todas porque la democracia no se hace sola, se empuja en conjunto”.
“Corran la voz porque la mayor conquista de los dominicanos y dominicanas en el exterior, que es poder ejercer el derecho al sufragio activo y pasivo, no se puede retrotraer. Al contrario, la meta es fortalecer y priorizar como antes nunca se haya visto el voto en el exterior. Dominicanas y dominicanos, para poder votar en las elecciones presidenciales y de diputación de ultramar en las elecciones del 2024: ¡Empadrónate por la Patria que Llevas Dentro!”, finalizó.
