NUEVA YORK, N. Y. Septiembre 20, 2022.- El Cónsul General de la República Dominicana en el estado de New York, Eligio Jáquez anunció la conformación de un Comité de Apoyo para brindar ayuda a los afectados por el huracán Fiona en la parte Este de la nación caribeña.
Ese organismo de socorro está encabezado por el Cónsul e integrado por los Vicecónsules, Julio César Mateo, Iván Tolentino y Clarelina Sosa, además de Neftalí Fuerte, Elías Barreras, Alejandro Rodríguez (Tontón), Ramona Almonte (Monín), David Vargas, Lucilo Santos, Shadie Tineo, Juanita Martínez, Raíza Rodríguez, Elvin Tineo, Modesto Liranzo y Miguel Khon, quienes se encargarán de atender a las personas que ofrezcan cooperación.
El Comité de Apoyo a los damnificados de República Dominicana informó que creó una cuenta en la institución bancaria Bank of América, con el número 226005693005, que los interesados puedan hacer sus aportes económicos, cuyos fondos serán enviados para ayudar a las personas que fueron afectadas por el fenómeno natural y que en estos momentos tienen muchas necesidades.
Se informa que los interesados que deseen pueden aportar alimentos perecederos como leche enlatada, arroz, habichuelas, cualquier tipo de harinas, agua embotellada, carnes enlatadas, aceite, cereales, así como vestidos y frazadas para ser donadas a las personas que han quedado desamparadas por el paso del ciclón.
Los interesados en hacer donativos deben dirigirse a los depósitos de Salcedo Cargo Express, ubicado en el 1445 de Cromwell Avenue, Bronx, New York 10452, informa el departamento de Comunicaciones del Consulado dominicano.
La parte Este de la República Dominicana fue afectada la madrugada de este lunes por los fuertes vientos y las lluvias que a su paso dejó el huracán Fiona causando grandes daños a la agricultura y la infraestructura de las provincias que forman esa región del Este del país caribeño.
El Consulado de República Dominicana dijo que el Comité de Apoyo tiene habilitado tres teléfonos que son el (862) 310-5153, de la señora Vicecónsul Clarelina Sosa, el (917) 709-9700 del relacionador público del Consulado, señor Elías Barreras y el (610) 743-0452, ejecutiva del Instituto del Dominicano en el Exterior (Index), Shadie Tineo, donde el público puede llamar y hacer sus donativos o realizar cualquier pregunta al respecto.
