Santo Domingo.- El Gobierno dominicano, a través de la Dirección General de Presupuesto (Digepres), informó que el 2024 ha sido el primero de los últimos cinco años electorales en el que se registra un superávit primario fiscal, incluso en contexto de campaña política.
Dicho de otra forma, si se excluye el gasto en intereses de la deuda, el Gobierno central registra un saldo fiscal positivo, controlando el gasto por debajo de los recursos totales ingresados, previo a la realización misma del certamen electoral.
Durante el período transcurrido desde el lunes 1 de enero hasta el viernes 17 de mayo de 2024, el resultado primario ascendió a RD 56,001.4 millones, equivalente al 0.8 % del PIB, como consecuencia de ingresos totales ascendentes a RD 467,455.2 millones, en contraposición a gastos primarios ascendentes a RD 411,453.8 millones. En sentido ampliado, al incluir los compromisos de pago por intereses de la deuda, el gasto total se eleva hasta los RD 503,817.0 millones, lo que revela un resultado financiero deficitario en apenas 0.5 % del PIB.
