BARAHONA: El precandidato a diputado Víctor Mateo Vásquez, llamó a la militancia del Partido de la Liberación Dominicana (PLD) a estar prestos para ayudar en cualquier situación de emergencia que se presente como resultado del paso de la Tormenta Tropical Franklin por esta provincia.
Mateo Vásquez, pidió a la militancia peledeísta ponerse a disposición de los organismos de socorro, las alcaldías, las juntas distritales, las iglesias y otras entidades que puedan prestar asistencia a familias que pudieren ser afectadas con el paso del fenómeno atmosférico.
El dirigente político manifestó que, sin distinción, ni partidos, los dirigentes medios y altos de esa organización y su militancia en sentido general deben sumarse a cualquier tarea de ayuda y asistencia, ante la eventualidad del meteoro.
Mateo Vásquez recomendó a las personas abstenerse de cruzar ríos, arroyos y cañadas que presenten alto volumen de agua y no hacer uso de balnearios (ríos), en las provincias bajo alerta.
El Centro de Operaciones de Emergencias (COE) colocó 14 provincias en alerta roja y 18 en amarilla por posibles crecidas de ríos, arroyos y cañadas, así como inundaciones repentinas o urbanas, debido a que el centro de la tormenta Franklin se ubica a unos 370 km al sur de Santo Domingo.
Las provincias en alerta roja son: Santo Domingo, Distrito Nacional, San Cristóbal, Peravia, Barahona, San Juan, Independencia, San Pedro de Macorís, La Romana, San José de Ocoa, Azua, Pedernales, Bahoruco y Elías Piña.
Mientras que en alerta amarilla se encuentran: Puerto Plata, Duarte, Hato Mayor, El Seibo, María Trinidad Sánchez, Monte Plata, La Altagracia ,La Vega, Santiago Rodríguez, Dajabón, Monte Cristi, Hermanas Mirabal, Espaillat, Samaná, Monseñor Nouel, Santiago, Sánchez Ramírez y Valverde
