Bruselas, Bélgica.- En su primer día en la capital belga, y en actividades previas a la reunión de la Unión Europea-CELAC, el presidente Luis Abinader ha desarrollado una intensa jornada de reuniones fructíferas para el país.
El mandatario dominicano sostuvo una primera reunión con el presidente del Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo (BID), Ilan Goldfajn, con quien trató temas económicos de interés para la República Dominicana.
Posteriormente el jefe de Estado se reunió con el presidente de Guyana, Mohamed Irfaan Ali. Ambos gobernantes retomaron temas de interés para ambas naciones, abordados en la visita oficial del presidente dominicano a Guyana el mes pasado.
El presidente Abinader se reunió también con la comunidad de los dominicanos residentes en Bélgica, a quienes escuchó y exhortó a ser un ejemplo y nunca olvidarse de su país.
La agenda de reuniones del mandatario dominicano finalizó con un encuentro con el presidente del Banco de Desarrollo de América, Sergio Díaz Granados.
El presidente Abinader estuvo acompañado en esas reuniones por el canciller, Roberto Álvarez; el vicecanciller Rubén Silié, el ministro de Economía Planificación y Desarrollo, Pável Isa y el embajador dominicano en Bélgica, Iván Ogando.
Lunes 17
Para este lunes, el gobernante tendrá varios espacios de reuniones bilaterales, el primero de estos con el primer ministro de Jamaica, Andrew Holness.
En horas de la tarde participará en la reunión entre la Unión Europea y líderes del Caribe.
Luego sostendrá una segunda reunión bilateral con Ursula Von der Leyen, presidenta de la Comisión Europea y posteriormente asistirá al acto inaugural y foto de familia de la III Cumbre Unión Europea-CELAC.
Más tarde, el presidente Luis Abinader tendrá otro encuentro bilateral con Werner Hoyer, presidente del Banco Europeo de Inversiones (BEI), y luego con Petteri Orpo, primer ministro de Finlandia. Por último, se reunirá con Mark Rutte, primer ministro de los Países Bajos.
En horas de la noche, el mandatario asistirá a una cena en la sede del Consejo de la Unión Europea.
