Buenos Aires, Argentina.- Como una estrategia para la reactivación económica, innovadora y multiplicadora de empleos, así definió la Ministra de la Mujer, Mayra Jiménez la construcción de la Política Nacional de Cuidados de la República Dominicana, durante su participación en el marco de la XV Conferencia Regional de América Latina y el Caribe, que se realiza en Argentina.
Jiménez explicó que los avances en el establecimiento de la economía y sociedad del cuidado han sido posibles gracias al compromiso, articulación y participación intersectorial e interinstitucional, cuyos aportes técnicos y financieros han sido imprescindibles, sobre todo para el arranque de este trayecto hacia la progresividad de los derechos humanos de las mujeres.
La Ministra destacó que los servicios de cuidados combaten la pobreza y generan empleos y esto ocurre por dos vías; la primera, con la creación de nuevos espacios para que las mujeres puedan cuidar de manera remunerada y la segunda, que les permite introducirse al mercado de trabajo en otras áreas.
“Los cuidados tienen un efecto dinamizador de la economía”, subrayó Jiménez. Sin embargo, la también presidenta pro tempore del Consejo de Ministras de la Mujer de Centroamérica y República Dominicana (COMMCA), manifestó que el financiamiento a estas políticas y sistemas de cuidados integrales es uno de los grandes desafíos en su construcción, su consolidación y, sobre todo, su sostenibilidad.
En ese sentido, externó que el financiamiento de un sistema integral de cuidados debe propulsar la corresponsabilidad social de los cuidados, garantizar la sostenibilidad, asegurar la transparencia y rendición de cuentas, ser intersectorial y valorar los resultados de la inversión para mejorar de forma continua las políticas y el sistema integral de cuidados.
Finalmente, reveló que para el 2023, el Piloto de Comunidades de Cuidado, como punta de lanza para la construcción del Sistema Integral de Cuidados de República Dominicana, requerirá una asignación estimada de cerca de 36 millones de dólares, equivalentes al 0.04 % del Producto Interno Bruto.
